Hulu Animayhem Factory Returns to San Diego Comic-Con 2024

Hulu has announced that Animayhem will return to San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) this year with a zany 2D factory to unveil how its stable of animation series are developed. 

It will run from the start of SDCC on Thursday July 25, and finish on the last day of SDCC on Sunday July 28.

Fans of all ages will be transported to an interactive showcase of Hulu’s well-known animation shows like ‘Solar Opposites’, ‘Hit Monkey’, ‘Futurama’, ‘The Simpsons’ and plenty more. 

The below experiences will be available for audiences to enjoy:

Tour the Slurm Factory from Futurama

On of the most iconic locations in ‘Futurama’ is the Slurm Factory, where soft drinks are made. Fans will get to see inside the location introduced in the season one finale, where they will be welcomed by a parched Bender, and get to meet a Slurm Queen.

Audio excerpts of the Slurm Factory music will play throughout to get fans in the mood, and there will be cutouts of beloved characters like  Fry, Lela and the Grunka Lunkas for photo opportunities. 

Visit Cutawayland Storage with Family Guy

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of ‘Family Guy’, fans will be allowed into Cutawayland where the show’s best cutaways have been safely kept. Guests will select a 2D object that aligns with a cutaway scene and bring it into one of the viewing stations. 

Once the object is placed into the machine, they will see retro TV screens display their favorite scenes and jokes from across the show’s 22 seasons.  

The are also life-size cutouts of the Griffin family dressed in yellow tuxedos for photo opportunities.  

Enjoy a Sweet Donut from The Simpsons LardLad Donut Factory 

The LardLad Donut factory will make its way to SDCC with Mr Burns trying to pass off toxic waste as donut icing. 

In partnership with Randy’s Donuts, the LardLad Donut factory will invite fans to watch the sweet treats get hand-glazed with the questionable icing, then have one to enjoy. 

Rebuild Roger the Alien from American Dad at the CIA Lab 

Roger the Alien from ‘American Dad’ has been captured by the CIA and is calling for SDCC visitors to help him escape. Fans will have to put Roger back together inside a CIA lab in n Operation esque challenge. 

There will be the opportunity to have photos with Roger’s Golden Turd once the game is over. 

Sing Your Heart Out at Bob’s Record-O-Matic from Bob’s Burgers 

The end credits songs from ‘Bob’s Burgers’ are one of the most iconic parts of the show. At SDCC, the Bob’s Record-O-Matic, recording studio will allow fans to dance and lip sync to a song of their choice 

Once the performance is complete, fans will receive a shareable video to post on social media. 

Take a Goobler Stress Test with Solar Opposites 

The Goobler Stress Test machine allows fans to measure their stress levels – from totally zen like Terry to super stressed like Korvo. Fans place their hands on a stress sensor to determine their level. 

Based off the results, fans will get a Goobler stress ball to keep them calm, with the color changing for purple for sort of stressed and red for really stressed. 

Find the Bonsai Master’s Sword from Hit Monkey 

The newest season of ‘Hit Monkey’, reveals that the titular assassin’s katana has an ancient sister sword. Guests will be challenged to find the this sword, called the Bonsai Master’s Sword, as they approach several katanas stuck in a forge to pick.

Choosing the true Bonsai Master’s Sword will net fans a pack of ‘Hit Monkey’ pins.

Cool off in The Great North and gaze upon the sights

‘The Great North’ break room will allow visitors to cool off in the fresh Alaskan air in the fridge from the show. Fans will be able to have a view of the Alaskan landscape and Tobin’s house.  

Grab a beverage with Krapopolis vending machine  

The break room dedicated to ‘Krapopolis’ will have a custom vending machine accurate to the show’s depiction of the Greek world. It will be full of memorable easter eggs for guests to select, and each item will trigger a corresponding clip from the show.  

Grimsburg

For fans of the new animation comedy ‘Grimsburg’ on FOX, the show’s themed break room will house a crime board with pictures of suspects, maps, and clues from Detective Flute’s latest mysteries. There are also characters from the show available for a photo.
