Hellbreach: Vegas Feels Nostalgic While Still Bringing It’s Own Look And Ideas
Hellbreach: Vegas is a wave based shooter that can be played solo or co-op. You can battle demons through multiple rounds, maps, and game modes. There’s some variety at first since weapons and items found during matches are randomized drops from machines. You can also customize your weapons to suit your play style. There’s no narrative, simply fast paced action.
As you survive each wave, more areas and slot machines are unlocked. The different modes also change things up a bit. For example, you can fight demons off in a confined space or rack up a certain number of kills before you can change weapons. Or survive demons that grow stronger with or without perks. You can also unlock all weapons in a reasonable amount of time. So there may not be enough incentive to grind between now and any future updates.
Hellbreach can be an “endless” shooter. The game can continue unless you set a limit. And this can be exciting for a while. With the horde gameplay it can be easy to get overwhelmed. Of course getting a strong weapon early on can make the later waves easier. And sometimes getting stuck in a corner is just bad luck. It’s frustrating all the same without the drive to unlock something new.
The gameplay is fun and doesn’t give you a moment to rest. This is also a game made by a single developer. It can feel empty of content. At the same time, it’s worth keeping an eye on to see what new maps could potentially be added. There may also be some story dropped in from time to time. Though fighting a demon invasion may be perfectly fine for you.
