‘Dune: Prophecy’ Episode 5 Recap
Episode five of ‘Dune: Prophecy’ begins with Emperor Corrino commissioning a new regiment of elite troops, which are under the command of Desmond Hart. They are to serve the Emperor personally, and protect him from his enemies.
Then Sister Francesca arrives at the ceremony. She is the mother of Constantine, and Javicco’s former lover.
On Wallach IX, the sisters are still disturbed by the visions they saw. Tula tells them they must choose whether they want to follow the strict teachings of the Sisterhood, or else leave. She tells Sister Jen to come with her and takes her to see Lila, as she hasn’t had any of the visions.
Lila is alive but has been possessed by the spirits of her foremothers and has to be kept strapped to a bed, but Tula believes she will recover in time.
Hanno Harkonnen goes to see Hart. He says he can get him intel, and that he was wrong to trust his aunt Valya, and try to call for an investigation into the death of Prewit Richese. He reveals that there is a black market that deals in everything from weapons to spice, and that the rebels must have been using it to fund their operations, and Hart can use it to track them to their source.
Valya meets with Francesca and tells her that she wants Constantine to get control of the new fleet on Arrakis.
At the club where the rebels meet, Mikaela is setting bombs to destroy the building. Kieran arrives and tells her he no longer wants to be a part of this.
Lila is possessed by the spirit of Mother Raquella and goes to the lab with Tula, where she does some tests on Kasha’s brain to find out what killed her, but they are interrupted by Sister Avila, who realizes what has happened to Lila.
Francesca begins to work on Corrino, trying to convince him to make their son Constantine the commander of the fleet. Corrino kisses her, but she pushes him away, telling him she doesn’t want to come between him and his wife.
Hart turns up at the club with his soldiers, and they begin to tear the place apart, looking for signs of the insurgents there. Kieran is still in the building and fights his way out. Desmond finds a robe that belongs to the Sisterhood, but Mikaela manages to set off the explosives, destroying the building. He manages to activate his shield just in time, and survives the blast.
Constantine asks his mother why he was born. The Sisterhood always has a plan with everything they do, and he wants to know the reason he was allowed into the world. She tells him Corrino is driven by fear, and that Constantine must take any opportunity that arises before him. Then she tells him the real reason he was born is to protect his sister Ynez, who will one day be the ruler of the Imperium, she must be protected from anyone, even those close to her.
Constantine goes to put his blade away and finds something in Kieran’s locker. Plans of the palace and evidence that incriminates him in the attempted attack on the throne room. He has Kieran arrested.
At a special dinner, Corrino praises his son for uncovering the traitor, and appoints him as the new commander of the Arrakis fleet. Ynez is shocked at the revelation of what’s happened. She leaves the dinner and goes to see Kieran in the cells.
Using Truthsense on him, she asks if everything was a lie. He says he really does care about her, and couldn’t go through with the attack, but that he truly believes his cause would make the Imperium better.
Tula receives a sample of Hart’s blood from Valya. She runs it through the computer to establish his bloodline, and it’s revealed he is half Harkonnen and half Atreides. He is Tula’s son.
