Clash of Clans and Clash Royale Headed to Netflix developer Supercell Confirms

‘Clash of Clans’ and ‘Clash Royale’ will get an animated adaption on the streaming giant Netflix, developer Supercell confirmed in a tweet.

Netflix said the series will focus on a Barbarian who gets in over his head.

“The new series will build upon the mayhem of the games,” said the Netflix announcement.

“It follows a determined, but in over his head, Barbarian who must rally a band of misfits to defend their village and navigate the comically absurd politics of war.

Fletcher Moules, who directed the original ‘Clash of Clans’ animated shorts, will showrun, and Ron Weiner will executive produce, with the Vancover-based Icon Creative Studio providing the animation.

“We’re thrilled to be working with Netflix and this creative team to bring the world of Clash to life,” Curtis Lelash, the head of film & TV at Supercell, said in a statement.

“Think epic battles, immaculate Barbarian mustaches, and the kind of humor our players know and love. They’ve been asking for a Clash series forever, and we’re beyond excited to finally say: it’s happening!”

This isn’t the first time the world of Clash has been adapted for animation. Supercell has published a series called “Clash-A-Rama’ on its YouTube channels, with a short and humorous bend to them.

‘Clash of Clans’ first released in 2012, and has been a smash success, along with its sister game ‘Clash Royale’, which released in 2016. Both share the same world and characters can be found across both games.

According to Supercell, the games have racked up a combined total of over four billion downloads and 180 billion gameplay hours worldwide.

‘Clash of Clans’ is a base building game, with players raiding each other for loot and prestige.

‘Clash Royale’ on the other hand is a card based real-time strategy game, where two players duke it out to destroy each other’s towers.
