Best Upcoming MCU Movies and Shows
MCU has been going through a rough patch lately, with mediocre responses to projects like She-Hulk, Ironheart, and even WandaVision. The studio that once ruled pop culture is in need of a major comeback. Here’s a look at a few promising titles that might just bring the spark back.
Avengers: Secret Wars (2027)
Avengers: Secret Wars will wrap up Phase 6 and is directed by the Russo brothers with a script by Stephen McFeely. The rumored cast includes heavyweights like Benedict Cumberbatch, Robert Downey Junior, Pedro Pascal, Chris Hemsworth, and more. The film’s aim is to reboot the entire MCU, making Doctor Doom likely the next major MCU villain. As for the plot, the movie may follow the 2015 comic touching on the multiverse and Battleworld.
Marvel Zombies (2025)
The upcoming Marvel animated show is a spin-off of What If, but with much more gore and horror. Staying true to Marvel Comics, the show will turn our favorite heroes like Spider-Man, Iron Man, and Captain America into mindless but brutal zombies attacking anyone without any moral boundaries. Unlike the short tease we got before, this show will explore the story in much more depth, with many MCU characters.
Wonder Man (2025)
In Wonder Man, Simon Williams is a washed-up, out-of-work actor who unexpectedly gets the chance to become a superhero. Much like She-Hulk, the show leans into comedy and satire, poking fun at fame, Hollywood, and the superhero lifestyle. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and Stella Meghie, the series will see Ben Kingsley returning as Trevor Slattery and Ed Harris as Neal Saroyan.
Blade (2025)
Following a decade-long hiatus, Marvel is finally moving forward with a new director following the exits of Bassam Tariq and Yann Demange. Contrary to what fans were expecting, Mahershala Ali will be donning the clothes of the vampire hunter, with Mia Goth and Delroy Lindo. While Wesley Snipes isn’t confirmed, his possible cameo, especially after his stint in Deadpool & Wolverine, has fans hopeful he could appear in this or future Marvel projects.
Shang-Chi 2 ( TBA)
Shang-Chi 2 is still up in the air, with director Destin Daniel Cretton now focused on Spider-Man and Marvel reshuffling its slate. Simu Liu joked about delays, but hints like that mysterious Ten Rings signal to space suggest something big is definitely cooking. Rumors are circling that we might get to see more of Xialing, and even a cameo from Kingpin.
