Alien: Earth Teaser Trailer Reaction

‘Alien: Earth’ is a new TV series set in the world of the well-known ‘Alien’ franchise, and while this teaser doesn’t show much of the plot – only that a Xenomorph comes to Earth – it sets is the uneasy and scary feel that many associate with watching the movies. This series will likely be a very tense watch when it releases in 2025.

The start of the trailer boldly declares that the series takes place in the year 2120, where Mother Earth, the home of humanity, is expecting an Alien. That sets up the lore aspect of this series up, as the show will have to explain what that means, though lore is no stranger to the ‘Alien’ franchise. Audiences get a great look at the new Xenomorph creature, with a reflective head just like a mirror. Hopefully this will feature in some of the scares, along with anything else that makes this Xenomorph stand out from the others.

From there, there are a series of blurred out shorts, with the grainy film quality that could only come out of an old sip. It looks like Weyland-Yutani are doing something they likely shouldn’t be in space, but that’s now crashed onto Earth and will likely put the whole planet in danger. It’s hard to gleam anything off these that might have plot relevance, though as this is only a teaser trailer that’s unsurrpising. It’s first thing is to sell the feel of the show, and with the lack of music, the use of darkness, it’s one of unease, which is definitely the right vibe to aim for. The trailer doesn’t show anything more yet.

The cast includes Sydney Chandler, Alex Lawther, Timothy Olyphant, Essie Davis, Samuel Blenkin, Babou Ceesay, David Rysdahl, Adrian Edmondson, Adarsh Gourav, Jonathan Ajayi, Erana James, Lily Newmark, Diem Camille, and Moe Bar-El.

“When a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth, a young woman (Sydney Chandler) and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat,” the series synopsis reads.

“As members of the crash recovery crew search for survivors among the wreckage, they encounter mysterious predatory life forms more terrifying than they could have ever imagined. With this new threat unlocked, the search crew must fight for survival, and what they choose to do with this discovery could change planet Earth as they know it.”

‘Alien: Earth’ releases in summer 2025.
