Alan Tudyk to reprise role as K-2SO in Andor season 2

Alan Tudyk will reprise his role as the beloved droid K-2SO in the upcoming second season of ‘Andor’, the website May 4 Be With You reports.

They report that at D23 fans were shown a behind-the-scenes reel which announced the return of K-2SO.

K-2SO was first introduced in the 2016 ‘Star Wars’ film ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ as a reprogrammed Imperial droid and Cassian Andor’s companion.

He perished at the Battle of Scarif when saving Cassian and Jyn Erso from stormtroopers, and helping them get the plans for the first Death Star.

Since his appearance, other droids of K-2’s model have appeared in ‘The Mandalorian’, Respawn Entertainment’s ‘Star Wars Jedi’ games and even in ‘Andor’ season one, though they’ve all kept their Imperial programming.

News about ‘Andor’ season two has been slowly ramping up. Not too long ago, fans found out that Ben Mendelsohn will return as Imperial Director Krennic.

Created by Tony Gilroy, ‘Andor’ stars Diego Luna as the titular Andor, alongside Stellan Skarsgård as Luthen Rael, Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma, and Forest Whitaker as Saw Gerrera.

The first season of ‘Andor’ debuted its first three episodes on Disney+ in September 2022.

It was well-received by both critics and fans, and started to tell the story of how Cassian Andor became part of the Rebel Alliance, and his role in forming the group.

Season one saw Andor witness his home planet of Ferrix stand up to the Empire, and pledge his service to Luthen Rael in rebelling against the Empire.

Season two will cover the four years of Andor’s life before ‘Rogue One’, and end right before the events of the film.

All 12 episodes of ‘Andor’ season one are on Disney+, and the second season of ‘Andor’ will release in 2025.
