Xbox’s Game Showcase Was Jam Packed With Premieres

We were shown a full buffet of world premieres at Xbox’s June showcase. There were also updates on previously announced games, DLCs, remakes, and an in-game event for The Elder Scrolls Online players. Ninja Gaiden 4’s release date was revealed as October 24, 2025. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 released on July 4th. Gears of War Reloaded, Persona 4 Revival, and Final Fantasy VII remake are coming to Xbox. Neither have a release date, but Final Fantasy XVI is currently available. Indiana Jones and The Great Circle is getting a DLC on September 4th. 

Chronos: The New Dawn now has a fall 2025 release window, but a final launch date hasn’t been revealed. Sea of Thieves is getting another event called Smuggler’s Tide while The Elder Scrolls Online has its first server wide event: Season of the Worm Cult. This event introduces season passes to the game. Now onto the new games and anticipated sequels that were revealed.

  1. High on Life 2

After taking on a galaxy wide cartel, players will be going head to head with a pharmaceutical conglomerate. Defend humanity and also rescue your sister, who had a mysterious figure put out a hit on her. Blast through enemies in high paced combat, and do cheeky kickflips off of cops. Players are going to meet a cast of eclectic characters voice acted by big names in comedy. Along with weapons from the original game, there are several new guns. Expect the High on Life sequel to launch this winter.

  1. Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy

Resonance acts as an origin story for Sophia, as well as a prequel to A Plague Tale: Requiem. It doesn’t require playing the previous game to understand. As Sophia players have to explore using a journal and solving light puzzles using a Minoan artifact. This light is integral to gameplay, but will become scarce as players progress. At the same time a dark presence hunts her throughout each trial. She can only hide or outsmart it, but not fight back. That isn’t to say there’s no combat. Unlike Amicia, Sophia is already a fighter who wields daggers and belongs to a plunderer’s gang. 

  1. The Blood of Dawnwalker

Set in a fictional kingdom called Vale Sangora during the 14th century, people are plagued by The Black Death and vampires. As their reign of terror spreads other creatures of darkness will follow them. Playing as Coen, who’s been turned into a Dawnwalker, the choice will be to fight for your humanity or embrace the curse. Either will affect the world and family Coen is fighting for. Players can choose how they play with two different skill sets depending on the time of day. This day/night cycle isn’t just for show since time will move forward, endangering Coen’s family further. The Blood of Dawnwalker sets out to be an RPG adventure that sets a new bar for the genre.

  1. Super Meat Boy 3D

Fans of this brutal side scroller might enjoy this 3d remake coming in 2026. It keeps the static camera to focus on speed and movement through tough levels. This remake allows players to move horizontally though focus remains on precision. To keep up with the game’s fast pace while helping players plan out moves, Meat Boy’s location will be indicated with a “ground circle”.  It will be available on Xbox Series X and S, as well as Game Pass on day one.

  1. Beast of Reincarnation

Beast of Reincarnation is the surprising action RPG from GameFreak, most known for the Pokemon franchise. Play as Emma who travels across a post-apocalyptic Japan with Koo, her canine companion. She has been infected by the sickness which destroyed the country. This earns her the nickname “The Blighted One”. While traveling across the wastelands where strange jungles appear and monstrous beasts live, her powers will bloom. Combat is supposed to be highly technical. Not much information has been released, but it is expected to launch next year.

  1. Clockwork Revolution

This is a time traveling adventure where players will alter key moments to change the narrative. After discovering the device that allows them to do this, it is revealed Avalon’s history is not as it appears. Lady Ironwood has used this device to bring herself untold wealth and Morgan Vanette, the customizable player character, must undo these actions. You can choose how these events are changed. This game aims to push reactivity beyond changes in dialogue to how entire regions appear. The RPG systems and skill trees will continue to intertwine throughout gameplay, so Morgan truly feels as though they are growing.

  1. Aphelion

Aphelion aims to be a grounded look at sci-fi with a focus on telling a “human journey”. Gameplay includes traversal, stealth, and exploration. Players will switch between Thomas and Ariane as they search for each other after crash landing on Persephone. Ariane will uncover the planet’s secrets in a hands on matter but Thomas, who’s injured, has to find different solutions. The narrative centers around their relationship and strained emotions, potential failure at finding a new home for humanity. It will be available next year on all Xbox consoles as well as Xbox Play Anywhere and Gamepass.

  1. There Are No Ghosts At The Grand

Restore an old hotel at night and fight the supernatural at night with these same tools. Chris David has thirty days and thirty nights to restore the Grand before something claims him. Along with the mystery, this game is also a musical. As Chris questions the villagers he’ll find that they each have a secret and a song to uncover. The village Kingswood-on-Sea acts as an open world area so players can easily explore. It’s a spooky comedy where everyone, especially the narrator, constantly lies. 

  1. Age of Mythology Retold: Heavenly Spear

Heavenly Spear is an expansion where players get to command samurai, yokai, and Japanese gods. The story will follow Yasuko, a farmer’s daughter, through 12 campaign missions. Yasuko searches to discover the spear’s secrets while meeting a cast of memorable characters. Players will get to control 12 gods, spirits and other mythological creatures, and shinobi. This expansion will have six new multiplayer and skirmish maps based on different folkloric locations.

  1. Mudang Two Hearts

In a Korea that has been unified, Ji Jeongtae is a soldier that has been sent to discover the truth behind terrorist attacks. Gameplay will blend stealth, combat, and cinematic storytelling. This will allow players to switch between playing quiet, melee, or an all out assault at any moment. Levels are designed so that multiple solutions can be found. Enemies are also meant to adapt to each playstyle. Players will also need to adapt from moment to moment as bosses will have abilities that test what they’ve learned. The narrative spans beyond the attacks down to your emotions being manipulated. Mudang: Two Hearts will also have two POVs. Players will switch between Jeongtae and GAVI, a Kpop idol who appears to be at the center of the mystery.

  1. Planet of Lana II: Children of the Leaf

Children of the Leaf will explore the evolving bond between Lana and Mui. It can be enjoyed without playing the first game. Puzzles will have more variety, including hypnotism. Lana will be able to wall run and overall faster movements to get away from danger. This game will be longer than the first and include underwater levels and icy mountaintops. The sequel is expected to release sometime next year, but the first game is still available on Game Pass.

  1. Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive

Arise Overdrive will follow the webtoon storyline while also having original adventures. It has a skill tree that branches into eight different categories. Players can also take on raids with up to three other players. They can play as Jinwoo or other hunters available in the game. Players can also use items won from battles to craft weapons from the popular show. Jinwoo gains abilities from his “Monarch Awakening” that makes each combat scenario even more dynamic. 

  1. Aniimo

Aniimo is a multiplayer, open world game that gives players freedom to explore. Players can battle Aniimos against one another or they can become their chosen Aniimo; “twinning”. Players can also travel through the world of Idyll as their Aniimo. Each creature can adapt to the different biomes to effectively leverage their abilities. The narrative will shape itself to your choices so, even in a group, the outcomes may not be similar.

  1. At Fate’s End

Play as Shan to defeat monsters and battle estranged siblings in an action adventure game where your skill tree is also your family tree. You will need to solve problems not only with your sword, but with deep knowledge of family secrets. This sword will grow stronger every time a sibling is defeated. Combat will let you mix quick actions or slow time to make strategic choices. But duels aren’t the center of At Fate’s End and the story will lead to a choice that asks was it all necessary, or will you continue the cycle? 

  1. Invincible VS.

Invincible VS is a 3v3 tag team fighting game. Combat will be as fast paced and bloody as fans have come to expect. There will be an exclusive campaign created by a writer of the animated show. Players can choose from arcade mode, training, casual or competitive multiplayer. Gory combos and ultimates will blast enemies into pieces. 

  1. Keeper

Keeper is a surreal adventure where a lighthouse is awakened. It sets out on an adventure with a spirited bird companion. It is a story without words through otherworldly settings. The keeper will go through strange changes as it travels to the island’s center. It’s coming out October 17th on all Xbox consoles, Game pass, and Xbox Cloud.

  1. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7

Black Ops 7 follows BLO2 and BLO6. Set in the near future of 2035, players take on a villain who uses fear itself as a weapon. There are two new multiplayer modes: Overload and Skirmish. The first will pit two teams of six against one another. Skirmish will have teams of twenty people racing to destroy payloads, capture points of interest, and upload data to score. A more in-depth look at gameplay is expected in August and it’s expected to launch in fall like other Call of Duty titles.
