52nd Saturn Award Winners List
The 52nd Saturn Awards have come and gone, with the awards ceremony bestowing awards across many different categories.
The full winners list from the night are as follows, starting with the Special Awards of the night.
William Shatner, best known for his role as Captain Kirk in ‘Star Trek: The Original Series’, was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award
This award is reserved for those who are not only revered for their outstanding work, but also those who have helped to further genre entertainment in the industry and beyond.
Laurence Fishburne was presented with the Lance Reddick Legacy Award, and Hiroyuki Sanada was presented the Robert Forster Artist’s Award.
Movies and TV shows also were honored in this Special Awards section. ‘Fallout’ was presented with the Spotlight Award, ‘Superman & Lois’ was presented the Dan Curtis Legacy Award and the 40th anniversary of ‘Back to the Future’ was honored with the George Pal Memorial Award.
Turning to films, ‘Dune: Part Two’ won in the following categories: Best Science Fiction Film, Rebecca Ferguson won Best Supporting Actress for her performance of LadyJessica Atreides, director Denis Villeneuve won Best Film Direction, and Paul Lambert, Stephen James, Rhys Salacombe, and Gerd Nefzer won Best Film Visual / Special Effects for their work on the movie.
‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ also came away with several awards. The film won the award for Best Fantasy Film, Jenna Ortega won Best Young Performer in a Film for her role Astrid Deetz, Danny Elfman won the award Best Film Music (Composer) for his work for the music, and Colleen Atwood won Best Film Costume for the movie.
Marvel Studios’ movie ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ came away with several prizes. It was named the Best Action / Adventure film, with Hugh Jackman being recognised with the Best Supporting Actor in a Film award for his role as Logan/Wolverine. Dean Zimmerman & Shane Reid came away with the Best Film Editing award for their work on the movie along with Patrice Vermette with the Best Film Production Designer for her work on the film.
Superhero shows were well represented in the TV Awards, with ‘Agatha All Along’ winning Best Superhero Television Series.
Colin Farrell won the Best Actor in a Television Series for his performance of Oswald “Oz” Cobbs in ‘The Penguin’. Cristin Milioti won Best Supporting Actress in a Television Series for her performance as Sofia Falcone in ‘The Penguin’.
Elsewhere, Antony Starr won Best Supporting Actor in a Television Series for his role of Homelander in season four of ‘The Boys’
To cap off the night for superheroes, the ‘Batman 85th Anniversary Collection’ on Warner
Home Video won Best Film Home Media Collection.
‘Star Wars’ also won big at the Awards. The third season of ‘Star Wars: The Bad Batch’ won Best Animated Series while Rosario Dawson won Best Actress in a Television Series for her performance as Ahsoka in ‘Star Wars: Ahsoka’. ‘Star Wars: Andor – The Complete First
Season’ by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment won Best Television Home Media Release.
‘The Substance’ won two awards, with Demi Moore winning Best Actress in a Film and Pierre-Olivier Persin winning Best Film Make-Up for his work.
‘Alien Romulus’ won Best Horror Film, ‘Strange Darling’ won Best Thriller Film, ‘Godzilla Minus One’ won Best International Film, ‘The Wild Robot’ won Best Animated Film, ‘Late Night with the Devil’ won Best Independent Film, Nicolas Cage won Best Actor in a Film for his performance as Paul Matthews in ‘Dream Scenario’, and Osgood Perkins won Best Film Writing (Screenplay) for his work on ‘Longlegs.
‘Cobra Kai’ won two awards, with it named the Best Action/Thriller Television Series and Xolo Maridueña was named Best Young Performer in a Television Series for his performance of Miguel Díaz in the show.
‘Fallout’ scooped up the Best Science Fiction Television Series Award, while House of the Dragon won Best Fantasy Television Series. ‘From’ won Best Horror Television Series, ‘Monarch: Legacy of Monsters’ won Best Adventure Television Series and ‘The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live’ was named the Best Television Presentation.
Mark Hamill was awarded with the Best Guest-Star in a Television Series award for his role as Arthur Pym in ‘The Fall of the House of Usher’.
Finally, ‘Invasion of the Body Snatchers’ from Kino/Lorber Studio Classics won Best Classic Home Media Release and ‘Saw X’ from Lionsgate Home Video won Best 4K Home Media Release.
