The last space suit on the Moon
This spacesuit was the last spacesuit worn on the moon, and was made for, and worn by astronaut Eugene A. Cernan, commander of the Apollo 17 mission in December of 1972.
The suit was constructed by the International Latex Corporation, with the designation A-7LB, and consisted of approximately 26 layers of materials designed to protect the astronaut from the extremes of temperature to be found in the vacuum of space and on the lunar surface.
When combined with the portable life support system and other components making up the extravehicular mobility unit, it all weighed approximately 185 pounds here on earth.

Einstein Defeated, FTL Travel is Possible - CERN announced they have observed neutrinos moving faster than the speed of light. If confirmed, this discovery will have astonishing implications; not only does it mean Einstein’s theory of special relativity is wrong, but it opens the possibility of faster-than-light space travel. In addition, it may crack open the door to time travel as well.

Scientists at the world’s largest physics lab said Thursday they have clocked neutrinos traveling faster than light. That’s something that according to Einstein’s 1905 special theory of relativity - the famous E = mc2 equation - just doesn’t happen.
“The feeling that most people have is this can’t be right, this can’t be real,” said James Gillies, a spokesman for the European Organization for Nuclear Research. The organization, known as CERN, hosted part of the experiment.

Cyberspace becomes the Metaverse - In his Novel “Snowcrash” Neal Stephenson described the Metaverse, an interactive online world where people could engage in anything from sword fights to romance. In an interview related to his new book “REAMDE” (and yeah that’s an anagram for “Read Me”) he talks about how today’s massive multiplayer online gaming forums have become both the realization of the Metaverse concept, and are pointing the way to the future of cyberspace.
Other people considered experts on the subject seem to agree - a startup called Entermeta gives away little on its website but bills itself as:

An organization of futurists, technologists, developers, artists, designers, entrepreneurs, and other great minds sharing their visions and insights for the future of the future.

Color me intrigued …

The Citröen Taranis

Looking like a wickedly futuristic Batmobile prowling the streets of Gotham, the Citroen Taranis is actually a hybrid vehicle – part car, part bike. Created by British-born video game designer Peter Norris, the streamlined, charcoal grey fairings are interrupted by sleek ‘gullwing’ doors and sits like a tarantula, poised to pounce.

The vehicle’s moniker was borrowed from the Celtic god of thunder, which is fitting seeing that the car is powered by electric motors within each wheel hub. With the motors sitting at a lower center of gravity, the design allows for improved handing, not to mention the double-jointed swing arms that provide unparalleled turning abilities.

Robotic Exoskeleton of the Day: Austin Whitney, a 22-year-old paraplegic UC Berkeley student, crossed the stage at graduation using a robotic exoskeleton designed by Cal professor Homayoon Kazerooni.

The exoskeleton, which is controlled by a switch on a walker, allows paraplegics to sit, stand and take steps. It’s projected to cost $15,000, which is about as much as a motorized wheelchair, and six times less than Kazerooni’s top-of-the-line eLegs exoskeleton.

Whitney was paralyzed from the waist down when he crashed his car in a drunk driving accident shortly after he graduated from high school. He thought he would never walk again.
