Star Trek: very Short Treks to celebrate 50 years of Star Trek animation

There will be five new short animated episodes titled ‘Star Trek: very Short Treks’ to celebrate 50 years of ‘Star Trek’ animation, it’s been announced.

A new comic book titled ‘Star Trek: The Animated Celebration Presents The Scheimer Barrier’ will also released as part of the anniversary.

They will come out on September 8 and will feature new episodes and chapters coming out weekly on Wednesdays.

It will see the likes of Ethan Peck and Gates McFadden voice their iconic characters Spock and Dr. Beverly Crusher.

Celia Rose Gooding will voice Uhura, and the legendary George Takei will voice Sulu.

Casper Kelly serves as a creative consultant for the show and will create the comics.

He is best known for his work on ‘Too Many Cooks’ and ‘Star Trek: Short Treks’ and Adult Swim. CBS Studios is behind the shorts.

The shorts will be released on the ‘Star Trek’ YouTube channel, at 10:00 am PT / 1:00 pm ET.

The names and release dates of the episodes are as follows:

September 8 – “Skin a Cat”

September 13 – “Holiday Party”

September 20 – “Worst Contact”

September 27 – “Holograms, All the Way Down”

October 4 – “Walk, Don’t Run”

The comic will be released on StarTek.com.

Physical editions will be available at New York Comic Con, which runs from October 12 to October 15.
