Captain America four gets a new title and reveals first look at Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford

Captain America: New World Order will be renamed Captain America: Brave New World Marvel Studios announced on June 6.

The change was revealed on Twitter, alongside a photo of Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford on the set of the film.

The release date for the film remains unchanged, with it still coming out next May.

Marvel hasn’t put out a reason for the change.

Plot details are sparse. The film will take place after Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson accepts the shield of Captain America.

It will see him face off against Tim Blake Nelson’s Samuel Sterns, otherwise known as The Leader, a villain not seen in the MCU since the 2008 film The Incredible Hulk.

Another returning actor from that film is Liv Tyler as Betty Ross, the daughter of Thaddeus Ross.

Harrison Ford will be making his debut into the world of superheros, replacing the late William Hurt as Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross, who will be the President of the United States in the MCU.

Shira Haas will also be joining the universe, playing the Israeli hero Sabra.

The film is directed by Julius Onah, and co-written by Malcolm Spellman, who was the creator of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

In an interview with Esquire magazine last month, Ford said he was having a great time shooting Brave New World in Atlanta.

“Uh, yeah,” Ford said when asked if he was having a good time. “I mean, there are tough days and easy days and fun days and all kinds of days. It’s a tough schedule and, yeah, it’s fun. But it’s not a walk in the park. It’s not fun fun. It’s work.”

Captain America: Brave New World will release in cinemas on May 3, 2024.
